The ring is in good condition. The shank is certainly a later replacement and it is highly likely the whole setting was replaced at the same time. It is hallmarked with maker's mark 'BMS', Birmingham, 1997. The old cut diamonds measure; 6.7mm x 6.24mm x 4.72mm (1.38ct approximately) and 6.42mm x 6.55mm x 5.35mm (1.57ct approximately). The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour J/K, clarity SI1/SI2. Gross weight 8.0g. CR made 11th August 2010 The sapphire measures 10.88mm x 7.66mm x 6.62mm = 3.80 carat approximately.
