ED WARD•DEI•G•REX•ANGL•D•HYB•&•AQ T ('Edward by the Grace of God King of England, Lord of Ireland and Aquitaine'), King standing and facing in ship with upright sword in right hand and shield emblazoned with the royal coat of arms in left, ship rigged with three ropes to left and two to right, saltire before ED WARD, rev. DOMINE•NE•IN•FVRORE•TVO•ARGUAS ME (Psalm 37 'Lord, rebuke me not in thy indignation'), floriated cross with lis terminals, crowned lions in angles, lombardic E in centre, diameter 27.8mm, weight 3.87g, S.1506, full flan with clear legends, a well struck, bold GVF, the reverse better, a delightful example.
