The brooch is in good condition. Some of the sapphires are quite scuffed/scratched. It bears no hallmark, but in our opinion it would test as platinum. It is signed 'Cartier London' and numbered '399?9' - the middle 9 may be two numbers which overlap, or an overstrike. It has double prongs, and two smaller to secure. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour H/I/J, clarity VS2/SI1/SI2. Gross weight 20.8 grams. CR made 24th September 2013. Additional information on sapphires: Largest 9.15mm x 6.95mm - depth unobtainable (chip to girdle) Smallest (one at side of central stone to semi-circle base) 5.74mm x 4.25mm x 3.06mm Square (one of) 2.35mm x 2.51mm - depth unobtainable.
