An Extensive Victorian/George V Silver Service of King's Pattern Flatware, various makers, London, 1890, 1894 and 1911, the majority John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater, London 1890, comprising: thirty six table forks; thirty six dessert forks; thirty six dessert spoons; thirty table spoons; twelve oyster forks; twelve egg spoons; nine teaspoons; one mustard spoon; four salt spoons; a stilton scoop; a pair of asparagus tongs; a sifter spoon; two butter knives; a soup ladle; a pair of basting spoons; a pair of serving/salad spoons; a pair of pickle forks; and a crumb scoop, housed in a fitted four tier canteen with Goldsmiths & Silversmiths label, 463oz 10dwt (189) See illustration

The table forks comprise 15 Aldwinckle & Slater 1890; 15 Gibson & Langman 1894; and 6 Golsmiths & Silversmiths 1911. The dessert forks comprise 19 Aldwinckle & Slater 1890, 11 Goldsmiths 1911 and 6 Gibson & Langman 1894. The dessert spoons are a straight run of 36, Aldwinckle & Slater 1890. The tablespoons comprise 22 Aldwickle & Slater 1890; and 8 Gibson & Langman 1894. The salt spoons comprise 2 Goldsmiths 1911; and 2 James Henry Daniel,1828. One teaspoon is a Goldsmiths example. All other remaining pieces are Aldwinckle & Slater, 1890. All pieces are engraved with a monnogram to match except the two William IV salt spoons which are crested. Overall the service appears in good presentable condition. Some light wear to tines of forks and some wear to the decoration on the reverse of the bowls of dessert, table and teaspoons. The canteed itself has twin brass carrying handles. The exterior is very worn with scratches and marks. the interior has two Goldsmiths inset ivorine labels to the rim. The baise lined trays havge some small damages and wear.
