♦Henry VI, First Reign (1422-61) Silver Groat, cross pellet issue (1454-61), London Mint; obv. ‘HENRIC DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC’ around crowned facing bust with saltire on neck, mascles after HENRIC & GRA, pellets by crown, mm probably cross fleury but overstruck with ‘C’ of ‘FRANC’; rev. long cross over ‘POSVI DEVM ADIVTOREM MEVM’ & ‘CIVITAS LONDON;’ S.1936, well-struck flan with good portrait detail & mostly full clear legends (double-struck in parts), possibly very lightly clipped between 9 & 10 o’clock, scratches to right of king’s portrait o/wise good surfaces, S.1936, wt 3.78g, nice VF.
