A First World War Casualty Group, awarded to 33050 PTE.J.(John) GLEDHILL, R.LANC.R., comprising British War Medal, Victory Medal and Memorial Plaque in boxes of issue with Record Office Award slip addressed to his widow Mrs.E.Brook who later re-married, also some research material. Footnote:-John Gledhill was born in 1882 and was killed in action during the Battle of Passchendaele. His remains were never identified for burial and so he is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, also commemorated on the Dewsbury Cenotaph, in the Dewsbury Roll of Honour and on the Ravensthorpe War Memorial in St. Saviour's Parish Church.
