Taxidermy: A Late Victorian Cased Diorama of Wading & Estuary Birds, circa 1870-1900, a display of twelve various birds comprising - Grey Plover, Moorhen, Water Rail, and Common Snipe, all mounted upon a painted faux rockscape, amidst grasses and fauna, enclosed within a large ebonised three-glass display case (a/f), 106cm by 28.5cm by 78cm

. cabinet in need of full restoration, case structure is very loose and fragile, left side glass panel missing, all birds are faded, two Common Snipe have damage to their necks, historical moth damage evident, 11/08/21

A superb quality auction comprising over 300 lots, including Victorian, Mid-Century, and modern Taxidermy and Natural History specimens by some of the most prolific and renowned taxidermy companies of the last 140 years, to include a private collection of cased Victorian birds and animals from a private vendor, numerous antique and modern African game trophies from various private vendors, rare and unusual Natural history specimens including a large Narwhal Tusk, and three wonderful Blonde Turtle shells.
