Victorian Photograph Albums
A Silver Mounted Bog Oak Photograph Album.
Bog oak boards, the upper board ornately carved in relief with an Irish scene, composed of a sighthound laid before a round tower with a harp and tree adjacent, oak leaves and acorns below ground level, a border of shamrock which enters the image, the upper border with a coronet. Simple shamrock carved lower board. Silver mounted with clasp (opens without key), hallmarked London 1863, maker RK, all edges gilt, morroco spine. Well stocked with carte de visite portraits.

Gift inscription dated 1893, cabinet cards and cartes de visite of a Tyneside family, additional photographs loosely inserted, worn diced calf binding (upper joint split) (2)
