Port Ellen 1979 30 Years Old 9th Release Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a natural cask strength single malt whisky of limited release, this is bottle number 4001 of 5916 bottled in 2009, distilled in 1979, 57.7% vol 70cl, in original cardboard box (one bottle)

Note: Port Ellen was established as a malt mill in 1824. The distillery was rebuilt in 1966/67 and closed in 1983 and it's ever-dwindling stocks are increasingly rare. Owners Diageo have been bottling small amounts from 1978 and 1979 in to "annual releases" which are prized by collectors. In 2017, it was announced that this 'silent' distillery may be awakened alongside Brora (which also closed the same year) by Diageo.
