♦Henry VI, First Reign (1422-1461), 2 x Silver Groats comprising: (1) Calais Mint, annulet issue, mm pierced cross, obv. HENRIC DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC around crowned facing bust of king within tressure of nine arcs, annulet either side of neck, rev. VILLA CALISIE with annulet in one quarter, saltire stops both sides; wt. 3.37g, possibly lightly clipped o/wise generally well struck GFine or+ & (2) Calais Mint, pinecone mascle issue, mm cross patonce, obv. HENRIC DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC around crowned facing bust of king within tressure of nine arcs, pinecones in legend, rev. long cross pattée, VILLA CALISIE, pinecones & mascles in legends; wt. 3.55g, V-shaped edge chip at 7 o’clock o/wise full flan, very well struck with full clear legends & fully detailed portrait, lustrous EF.
