Collection in three boxed Lighthouse hingeless albums and two further volumes, highlights including two four-margin 1d blacks, one very attractive with red maltese cross, 10d brown embossed with four clear margins, probable concealed faults yet a very collectable example, nice 2/- blue with light bar cancel, 1880s high values with cds 5/- and sound reg. cancelled 10/-, QV and KEVII £1 greens, £1 PUC sound though heavy cds postmarks, officials worth investigation, etc. Also a large binder of stockpages with line-engraved incl. four margin penny black, mixed condition surface-printed to high values, later with postmark interest, as well as a further homemade album with the remains of an old collection with useful mint from late QV and intact section of controls and cylinder blocks. Well worth a close viewing.

Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
