A Porcelain Group of Two Lambs, probably Longton Hall, circa 1752, each recumbent with fawn markings, the faces picked out in black and red, on a pad base applied with flowerheads picked out in colours, 10.5cm long; and Two Other Figures of Recumbent Sheep, 6cm long (3)

This model was in production at the Longton Hall factory during the early 1750's. However, the decoration of this piece is not characteristic of the factory decoration at this period and may be the work of an independent decorator or at West Pans. For a similar Longton Hall snowman type example see Phillips The Watney Collection Part II, lot 481, and for a pendant example with similar decoration, possible the pair to the present example, see Phillips: The Watney Collection Part I, lot 109.

Sold for £800
