In fully restored condition. Re-lined, cleaned and re-varnished. Has lightly undergone 2-3 schemes of restoration based on visible retouching/over-painting with UV light. The foliage in the upper left hand corner has been strengthened, with a further patch of restoration and over painting the sky in the upper left hand corner. General infilling along left hand side edge and sporadic retouches to the background above and beside the figures to the left hand side. The outline of the second figure from the left, around the shoulder area has been re-touched in addition to the definition of the ringlets that she wears The left hand side outline of the far left figure has also been strengthened to a lesser extent. Evident relatively minor restoration to the skirts of these two figures. The sporadic retouching to the background is evident throughout the remainder with one larger and more significant patch to the left of the standing gentleman and is approx. 6cm by 6cm at is widest and longest points. The relatively insignificant strengthening to the costumes continues through the remaining figures and a further more consistent patch of over painting can be found in line with the far right hand side standing females head, along the outer edge. Most of the flesh areas have had more delicate and sporadic infilling of old flaked paint/craquelure. All edges have general infilling. The brushwork retains reasonable surface from the restoration process. Odd minor abrasions. Some of the restoration has deteriorated and discoloured and is evident with the eye. Otherwise in a good and stable state of preservation.
