10 x British Silver, comprising :Elizabeth II sixpence 1568 mm coronet, obv. intermediate bust 4B, rev. long cross fourchée divides shield of arms, (S.2562), holed 9 o'clock, Poor; 4 x crowns George III 1818, 2 x Victoria 'Jubilee Head' 1889 and 'Old Head' 1893, and George VI 1937, Fair to near Fine; Victoria double florin 1889 obv. Jubilee bust left, rev. crowned curciform shields, sceptres in angles, near Fine; Victoria halfcrown 1890, Fair; Anne shilling 1711 rev. plain angles (S.3618), VG; George III Maundy 3d 1762 mounted as a pendant, otherwise near Fine; and Diamond Jubilee of Victoria 1897 (25mm, 9.76g), obv. old veiled bust left, rev. young head left divides inscription, (Eimer 1817b), sometime cleaned, GVF; together with a small quantity of AE and base metal, including 'Cartwheed' 2d 1797, VG; George II halfpenny 1744, Good; brass threepence 1949, near Fine etc.

An interesting and eclectic mix of coins spanning over 1000 years of history will go under the hammer in Tennants Auctioneers’ Coins & Banknotes Sale on 15th February. Amongst the nearly 600 lots are rare and fine examples such as a Gold Proof Set issued in 1937 to mark the Coronation of George VI, an AE Drachm produced in Alexandria mint in the reign of the Ptolemy III Euergetes (246-221 BC), a Portuguese Joao V (1720-56) 4 Escudos (Peca) minted in Lisbon in 1727 and two consecutively numbered Bank of England white five pounds.
