Five Pairs of Scottish Provincial Silver Sugar-Tongs, comprising a Fiddle pattern pair with shell grips, engraved with initials, by Andrew Davidson, Arbroath, First Quarter 19th Century; a similar pair by Adam Burgess, Dumfries, First Quarter 19th Century; a Fiddle pattern pair with oval grips, by David Gray, Dumfries, First Quarter 19th Century; a pair with shaped handles, engraved with foliage, by Peter Ross, Aberdeen, First Quarter 19th Century and a Fiddle pattern pair by William Mill, Montrose, Circa 1820, Fiddle pattern, total weight 7oz 4dwt, 224gr (5)

The Arbroath pair marked inside with maker's mark AD, portcullis and crowned head twice. There is some wear to the marks but each is generally legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.

The popular fortnightly Antiques and Interiors Sales attract a loyal following of regular buyers and they are a good source of 20th and 21st century collectables. This sale will include a section of over 90 lots of affordable pictures from a Private Collection in the North of England. Predominantly dating from the 19th and 20th centuries, the collection includes a broad range of watercolours and oil paintings, covering all genres from landscape and seascape, to interiors, genre scenes and still lifes.
