Sold for £3,500
Estimated at £3,000 - £5,000

Sir Edward Durand was stationed in Nepal circa 1888-1891. the skin overall is quite stiff as being hung attached to a stretcher for many years within the hall way of Kilberry, ( i have it rolled at the moment so their is some flexibility), it does require a good clean and i feel this will benefit it massively, the overall pile of the fur is excellent as having never been laid out on the floor, and the colour is also very good as it was hung out of direct sunlight within the hall way, (cleaning would bring it out even more), the gumline as you will see in the images has cracked over the years, the upper left and lower left fang is chipped (damaged). please refer to additional images available on tennants website for further inspection.
