Collection in a Stanley Gibbons binder starting with several 19th century postal history items including 1807 entire with Kendal straight-line postmark, 1d unused Mulready letter-sheet, forme 5, with internal advertising in blue, (SG.ME1a, cat. £750), 1857 4d rose wing-margin pair (SG.66a) neatly tied on mourning cover to Canada, 1/- pale green (SG.73) on cover to USA, 1872-73 6d chestnut plate 11 and 6d grey plate 12 each on covers to same addressee in Sicily, the latter in combination with 1d red. Then the printed pages with useful mint incl. 3d rose SG.144 plate 16, 2d lilac SG.189, Jubilee 1/- issues, 1912-22 set, 1924-26 mint never hinged incl. Empire Exhibition sets, 1939 2/6d brown MNH, QEII phosphor sets MNH, etc. Also two further SG volumes for Isle of Man and Channel Islands incl. comprehensive 1940s issues. Please inspect.

Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
