In generally well presented condition overall. The canvas has been lined and there are two paint losses and two surface scores to the lower right corner. Craquelure throughout face and décolletage. UV examination reveals areas of retouching to face and hair, edges of canvas and sky to upper left corner. Possible over painting to forearms and sleeves with a further possible area of repair above the head and evident under UV light. Scattered areas of UV flare to background as would be expected for a work of this age.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
