♦Henry VIII, (1509-1547), Silver Groat, London Mint, first coinage, profile type with portrait of Henry VII, obv. hEnRIC VIII DI GRA REX AGL Z FRA around crowned bust of Henry VII facing right, mm portcullis crowned, rev. POSVI DEV ADIVTORE MEV around long cross fourchée over quartered royal shield; wt. 3.10g, obv. scratches in field to right of king’s portrait o/wise full, well struck flan with generally good edge & surfaces, toned VF, parts better.
