A Mahogany Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed James Thomas, Chester, circa 1790, swan neck pediment, flame veneer trunk door flanked by fluted pilasters, 13-1/4-inch arch brass dial, chapter ring with a central date ring, dial centre signed, arch with moonphase disc, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and rack striking now on a gong, possibly later case, 231cm high

Case with chips in parts, trunk left hand side with cracks, trunk door with a central crack and signs of wood filler to the reverse of the trunk door, finials are missing, later wooden blocks added to both sides of the side cheeks below the seatboard, movement now converted to striking on a gong, possibly later case, pendulum bob has come off the pendulum rod and needs repairing, with two weights.
