A Pair of Royal Dux Bohemia Large Figures of a Goatherd and A Shepherdess, early 20th century, he stands wearing a bear skin and green tunic, gazing to the left, a goat at his side, on a panelled canted square plinth, 77.5cm high, she stands, holding grass and clover in her upheld apron, feeding a lamb at her side, 75cm high, each in typical subdued colours and gilt throughout, both with impressed and applied pink triangle pad marks, impressed 1660 and 1061 (2) See illustration

Goatheard -left horn of goat has been restored and also half of it has been chipped (piece not retained). The left ear is also restored. The goat's tail and anal region has been restored. The rustic rockwork at the rear has some very minor chipping, as has the bear skin. The goatherd holds a real wood (ie a twig) as a staff. Sold a/f. Shepherdess - there is a hairline crack running through the angle of the rear right basal angle, some minor chipping to the rockwork, and very minor petal chipping. Otherwise the female appears in good condition. 10/2/09
