A collection in eight stockbooks, 2 binders, sheet file and loose, filling a clear plastic container. Strong Machin interest, the collector having been a neighbour of the great sculptor, with three stockbooks of specialised printings knowledgeably labelled, as well as a card mounted with the 1969 high value set signed Arnold Machin (one of 500 produced). Other good material includes late 1960s sheets, 1939/48 high value set MNH (2/6d brown with toning), phosphor sets incl. red cross MNH, etc, through to extensive later sets with at least £1,000 of face value. Also a few 1d red covers, a couple having lengthy and charming contents, Iraq/Mesopotamia photographic postcard group, etc. Please inspect.

261 lots including several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
