Collection of the later Victorian issues 1872 onwards in an Oriel album, including 1872-80 series of seven values mint to 48cts with 16cts pale violet and 36cts blue (SG.126, 129), then 2cts brown perf 14x12½ mint (two rust spots, one on perf affecting appearance), 1879 2r.50 mint (fresh-looking but crease with split) and used, 1885 5cts on 48cts rose mint requiring expertization (SG.157), 10cts on 64cts unused (SG.164), 5cts on 24cts used (SG.182), 1r.12 on 2r.50 used, 1887 1r.12 watermark varieties mint and used, 1888-90 2cts on 4cts surcharges mint range (some toning) with errors including SG.210b and SG.211b, plus later high values mint and used, postal stationery cut-squares many surcharged, etc. Cat. over £7,500.

Highlights of the October 30th Stamp Sale include a very extensive collection of Switzerland assembled over a lifetime by a former President of the Helvetia Society of Great Britain with focus on postal history beautifully written-up on album pages; a specialised collection of Ceylon with many of the key stamps including an excellent range of classics plus King George V key-plate high values, plus from the same estate a group of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir including a complete presentation album sent out in 1899 on behalf of the Maharajah. Also an extremely interesting large folio presentation volume of 19th Turkish revenue proof sets with ornate binding suggesting a possibly unique production for the Ottoman royal family.
