♦Henry VIII, (1509-1547), Silver Groat, London Mint, second coinage, profile type with Laker bust D, mm rose; obv. hEnRIC VIII D G R AGL Z FRA around crowned & draped bust facing right, larger squarer face with hair above collar, crown arch within beaded circle, rev. POSVI DEV ADIVTORE MEV around long cross fourchée over quartered royal shield, saltire stops; wt. 2.51g, flan very slightly bent, obv. legends double struck below bust & correspondingly on rev., edge chipped between 2 & 3 o’clock o/wise full, well struck flan with very good detail In bust & rev. shield, light peripheral toning, an attractive coin, VF to GVF.
