A Sunderland Dawson & Co, Low Ford Creamware Pottery Peace and Plenty Mug, early 19th century, the plain cylindrical body with brown string line to the rim, transfer printed in black with a three-masted man o'war flanked by figures representing Peace and Plenty amongst flowers, and with four line verse beginning MAY PEACE WITH PLENTY ON OUR NATION SMILE..., with polychrome detail overglaze, plain strap handle, 11.7cm high

Generally discoloured, particularly darkening on the upper half of the vessel. General glaze scratching. The rim glaze quite worn by intact. The basal rim has numerous small flakes and some bolder chips (which are mainly hidden). There is a multi-limbed star crack in the base. Sold a/f. 190911
