Small desk-clearance from an estate that included the good Manchuria in the last Tennants Stamp Sale, the best here being three probably scarce Manchuria (presumed) revenue overprinted issues on pieces of documents in Russian: a single in blue-green and pair in orange, then 60 old photographs in and around the Summer Palace and Winter Palace, black and white postcards of Japan (23) and Shanghai (4), also bags of on- and off-paper stamps some by country including Hong Kong, etc.

Highlights of the October 30th Stamp Sale include a very extensive collection of Switzerland assembled over a lifetime by a former President of the Helvetia Society of Great Britain with focus on postal history beautifully written-up on album pages; a specialised collection of Ceylon with many of the key stamps including an excellent range of classics plus King George V key-plate high values, plus from the same estate a group of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir including a complete presentation album sent out in 1899 on behalf of the Maharajah. Also an extremely interesting large folio presentation volume of 19th Turkish revenue proof sets with ornate binding suggesting a possibly unique production for the Ottoman royal family.
