Two loose-leaf albums of back of the book material, mint in one book and used in the other, the regional Wilding and Machin heads with some better varieties incl. mint never hinged NI43a (cat. £175), used S51a x2 (cat. £180 each), virtually complete 21st century sets and souvenir sheets, also Guernsey and Jersey WWII-period lions issues, bisect covers, Isle of Man material from 1831 onwards, as well as good postage dues with 1896 and 1902 handstamps on cover/cards, 1914/22 complete mint with extra shades to 1/-, 1924/31 set complete mint with never hinged values incl. 2/6d (cat. £275), continuing comprehensive, the 1950s mostly never hinged, as well as inverted watermark pages mint and used incl. 1960 1d MNH (cat. £125) and 3d used.

Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
