An immense display of the Castles and Britannia high values, methodically organised by value and plate numbers, etc, with over 100 corner plate imprint blocks to £10 (Cyl. 1A x2 and 3A) incl. £1 '1A' superimposed on '2B' and £5 blocks with similar alterations, as well as centre gutter blocks, circular boxed check imprints, and exciting errors including £1 Carrickfergus margin strip of four (horiz.) with progressive loss of transfer and heavy flaw on final stamp, severely shifted perf £1 examples, £1.50 cylinder block with 5mm shift to left and magnificent central gutter block with 'Caernarfon Castle' wholely at top on upper pair, at top of gutter labels and absent from lower pair. Also £2 showing diagonal offset of '£2 - Edinburgh', £5 block with perfs shifted to left, etc. These are just the easily noticeable items, with many more printing varieties present. Even the FDCs here are excellent, with cylinder block and gutter block sets, and singles set with respective local cds postmarks (latter four over £700 in Booth). Face value alone well over £1200. A wonderful collection.
