A Chinese Lacquer and Silk Mandarin Fan, mid 19th century, the silk panels embroidered with birds, insects and foliage, the lacquer sticks and guards decorated in shades of gilt with landscape panels, birds, objects and foliage, 28cm long, in a fitted lacquer case with gilt decoration and silkwork panel

. Some loss to the feather attached to the fringe of the leaves, also with fraying and some tears to the blue banding at this point. Silk with very light staining. Needlework good. Sticks with wear only, no cracks or repairs. Case with wear and numerous edge chips throughout. One vertical crack to the rear right corner of the base. Clasp loose but functions, tool lacking to push the clasp open.
