May 1840, the Mulready penny envelope, three examples: unused in excellent condition, and two used, one very presentable (forme 2) with black MX and fine strike of Stratford-on-Avon cds on reverse, the other with red MX, with faults/heavy folds mostly caused by being affixed to card backing as unusual contemporary method of usage.
