A Distinguished Service Cross (George VI GRI), awarded to Sub Lieutenant David James Robertson Harvey R.N.V.R., Fleet Air Arm, the reverse with hallmark for London 1942, and engraved with the inscription "For Bravery, Skill and Determination in air operations while serving in H.M.S. Victorious. Sub.Lieu.(A) D.J.R.Harvey, R.N.V.R. 20th May 1942, in case of issue, together with an obituary clipping and letter from his brother.
**Sub Lieutenant Harvey was the navigator of a plane flown by a pilot who became night blind. The pilot managed to land the plane successfully on the aircraft carrier solely by verbal instructions from Sub Lieutenant Harvey, for which actions he received the award. He was sadly lost overboard six months later.
