Mint group of 19th century issues: 1872 3d rose Plate 9 (SG.103) and 1882 6d grey Plate 18 Inland Revenue official (SG.O4, heavily pulled perf lower left and little gum) and the same issue with Specimen ovpt (SG.O4s, tiny stain spot at top). Cat. £1,525.

Highlights of the October 30th Stamp Sale include a very extensive collection of Switzerland assembled over a lifetime by a former President of the Helvetia Society of Great Britain with focus on postal history beautifully written-up on album pages; a specialised collection of Ceylon with many of the key stamps including an excellent range of classics plus King George V key-plate high values, plus from the same estate a group of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir including a complete presentation album sent out in 1899 on behalf of the Maharajah. Also an extremely interesting large folio presentation volume of 19th Turkish revenue proof sets with ornate binding suggesting a possibly unique production for the Ottoman royal family.
