Laura Stadtegger "Abenteuer" Signed, oil on canvas, 80cm by 100cm
Laura Stadtegger is an award-winning artist who studied Painting, Tapestry and Animated film at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and then went on to study Fine Art and Painting at the University School of Visual Arts in New York. In 2016 Laura was the Artist in Residence at Art Castle International in Trivandrum, India, and she has since exhibited at the Weihergut Gallery in Salzburg, Austria, and at Bermondsey Gallery in London, to name but a few. Laura’s pictures, frequently interpreted as autobiographical statements, are not intended as mere reproductions of reality on canvas. Instead, the coherence and intensity of colour, as well as the indomitable tension present in her work, have a haunting effect on the viewer, drawing them into a new world of fantasy and abstract. Her style can be described as one of expressive emotions: a fleeting yet concentrated approach to drawing and painting compressed and unfolded solely from the quintessence of an array of brief moments.
