A Victorian 1871 Pattern Trooper's Helmet to the Hampshire Carabiniers, the nickel skull with white metal rayed star helmet plate centred by a brass Queen's crown over buckled ribbon cast HAMPSHIRE CARABINIERS enclosing a rose, with laurel leaf front band, the rear spine embossed with acorns and oak leaves, the plain fluted spike with white horsehair plume and rosehead boss, with rose head ear rosettes, leather backed chin scales and remnants of the original leather liner

One front side of the skull has a shallow crease dent, the other side has 8-10 small pinhead size dents. The front skiver is good. The pierced central vent to the interior has been re-soldered. The leather liner is shabby and incomplete
