In an excellent state of preservation with reasonably thick impasto in places. There is some surface dirt but the picture appears to have never been varnished and contained within its original gold leaf frame, gold leaf slip and is under glass. The outer frame has been rubbed in places and the red ground is showing through the gold leaf. 081009
