The work is in good original condition with thick impasto in places. There is some slight bitumen to one or two buildings in the distance and at the side of the bridge on the right with other small areas of bitumen in the reflection in the water under the bridge in the darker shadows. The work obviously has areas of dirt and discoloured varnish throughout and is contained under glass in its original 18th century carved giltwood frame decorated with foliate scrolls and flowers.
