A Meissen Group of Leda and the Swan, circa 1750, modelled by Johan Joachim Kaendler, as the loosely draped goddess sitting on a tree stump garlanding the swan with flowers a putto to one side, on a mound base applied with flowers, crossed swords mark in underglaze blue, 17cm high

Item in Leda's left hand missing, also thumb and fore-finger on one hand and little finger on the other hand missing. Toe on her left foot missing, but glazed and painted over so probably occurred in the manufacturing. Section of garland from swan's neck to Leda's hand missing and small section of garland missing from neck missing. Approx 2cm to the tip of one wing missing. One branch and tip of another branch missing from tree stump and with typical losses to leaves and applied foliage. Section of foliage to reverse of rockwork and drapes missing. Top of quiver missing. 040512
