Masonic Interest: A Creamware Pottery Mug, J Phillips & Co, Sunderland Pottery, early 19th century, cylindrical, printed in black with Grand Lodge flanked by columns, globes and flanked by figures, seven line verse beginning The world is in pain, 9cm high; and An Independent Oddfellows Pottery Mug, early 19th century, cylindrical, printed with the mystic eye and four-line verse beginning Behold behold the upright hand, within printed black floral frame, 8.8cm high (2)

Mug 1 - long crack from rim. Some slight fritting of glaze on the rim and some flaking on the black line around the rim. Slight discolouration around the foot and a repaired chip on the foot ring. Mug 2 - firing damage and some extensive restoration to the base. Crack in rim. Both sold a/f. 021009
