Town class cruiser commissioned in 1937 and took part in action against the Bismarck (1941), the fork is stamped 'Old Philharmonic' and 'C#', mounted on card with label 'The Stainless Steel Ship's Bell On HM Cruiser "Sheffield" Was Tuned To This Fork In 1937' 5 3/4", 14cm long

An important piece of English sporting history is set to be auctioned, when a 1966 FIFA World Cup Winner’s Medal, won by Alan Ball, comes under the hammer at Tennants Auctioneers, North Yorkshire with an estimate of £80,000-120,000 (plus buyer’s premium). Also on offer will be Ball’s 1966 World Cup Final No.7 Shirt (estimate: £30,000-50,000 plus b.p.), and his 1966 World Cup Cap (estimate: £15,000-25,000 plus b.p.). The sale will take place on 9th December, coinciding with the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
