. in restored condition, relined, cleaned and revarnished. enclosed to reverse with cardboard protector. majority of gentalmans face, hair and costume overpainted. surface flattened and thin as a result of the restoration process.there is an amount of chalky or white marking along lower edge which are potentially intrinsic or deterioating varnish with a futher vertical line to right side appox 30cm long , 5cm from edge. light surface dirt and discoloured varnish. varying sized stable craquelure throughout. stretcher shadow. frame in good order, modern
