Great Britain
QEII Wilding Booklet Panes Collection

Wonderful in-depth study of the Wilding booklet panes in two volumes, running from Tudor Crown watermark to the various phosphor types, with the vast majority in exemplary never hinged condition. We have not had time to properly catalogue this complex section, however it is clear there are many, many panes cataloguing in the £100s, for example 1d ultramarine advice label panes incl. SB23 upright and inverted (cat. £1,000), 'Please Post Early' modified setting upright, inverted and cyl. F6 (cat. £540), 2d crowns SB79ac (cat. £950) and SB79 cyl. H6 (cat. £600), SB88a both cream and white paper (cat. £600), SB103/104 cyl. K18 (cat. £345), etc, etc. Hundreds of different panes here with many still in glassines as bought from dealers in the 1970s incl. set of 18 upright/inverted blue phosphors in one envelope. Catalogue will be well into five figures. A great opportunity for the Wilding collector.

Sold for £2,700
Estimated at £1,000 - £1,250
