An 18th Century French Silver Gilt Mustard Pot, maker's mark NN, Paris Maison Commune circa 1785, of drum form, the open work sides with festoons and laurel swags, the central panel engraved with a coat of arms and motto with winged cherub supports, with scroll handle, domed hinged cover and pomegranate finial, 9.5cm high, 3oz 6dwt

Finial depressed into cover. Split next to handle on frame. Marks partially mis-struck. Motto is crescit sub pondere virtus. Small bruises to cover.
