Highlights in this book are the #1 pen-cancelled, first perforate 10k used, perf 12½ 30k used, 1864 3k used, 1868-79 vertically laid papers nice quality used with all values save 10k (SG.24/26, 28/29, 35/37, total cat. £1,780), 1884 3.50r grey and black without thunderbolts mint (SG.47, £1,100), through to 1915 scarce 15k currency issue imperf pair used on piece (Sc#106a, cat. $200 for far more common mint single), 1921 famine relief 2250r green on pelure paper mint (SG.230c, £225), 1922 surcharges with lots of errors incl. inverts, followed by worker/soldier/peasant types incl. 15k yellow perf 14x14½ used (SG.369, £325), 3r perf 10 used (SG.395, £275), 1926 wmk imperfs set mint, the 3r signed, etc. Continues strongly with the better commems incl. 1933 exhibition ovpts used (SG.606/7, £315), 1935 North Pole flight ovpt mint (SG.706, £750 not expertized), and into the second album with 1947 Moscow centenary mint (cat. £550), 1949 Pushkin mint and used (cat. £400), 1949 Lenin mausoleum perf mint (cat. £550) and Stalin 70th birthday mint on both papers (cat. £600), etc.
