In a strong Whisky auction, an outstanding consignment of six bottles of rare whisky from a forgotten cache lead the sale. The bottles include a very rare Bowmore 18 Year Old Pure Scotch Malt Whisky Sheriff’s bottling, a Laphroaig Pure Islay Malt, Over 12 Years Old, bottled by Wm. Cadenhead in the 1960s, and four single malts distilled in the 1930s, bottled in the 1960s by Gordon & MacPhail, the leading independent bottlers. The vendor, who hails from Skipton, discovered the bottles amongst his late father’s possessions.
The sale will also include a second private collection of whisky, comprising approximately 160 bottles of varied and accessible collectable single malts, including limited edition ‘Game of Thrones’ bottles and the entire range of Flora and Fauna whiskies.
Amongst the fine wine on offer are a number of good cases from a private vendor, which include a case of Château Latour 1997 Pauillac. From other vendors come several bottles of Château Lafite Rothschild from the 1960s-80s, three bottles of Château Mouton Rothschild 1984 Pauillac, and a bottle of Château Petrus Gran Vin 1983 Pomerol.
